Students will attend both online lectures delivered by the chosen Chinese University as well as additional lectures delivered by Shulan College. You will have the option to attend the additional lectures either in-person (in Manchester) or online. Lectures will be held weekly and amount to a total of 1 hour per week. With your key supervisor you will decide on your research topic and choose an opening statement e.g., "Acupuncture for Pain Relief". It is recommended that you spend 1-2 weeks in China during your second year of study in order to meet with your supervisor. This will be arranged between you and your supervisor. Your chosen opening statement will be assessed by 5 experts in the area either online or in person (in China) to agree on and finalise your research subject. Third (Final) Year The final year of study is focused on thesis writing . It is recommended that you spend 1-2 weeks in China during your final year of study in order to meet with your key supervisor to receive feedback and guidance on your research and writing. This will be arranged between you and your supervisor. Once you have finished your thesis paper, it will be submitted for plagiarism checks and then submitted for your debate. The thesis debate takes place at the end of your final year with 5 experts in the area. It is required that 3 or more experts deem your thesis passable in order for you to graduate. You can attend the thesis debate either online or in person (in China). During the 3 years, Shulan College, based in UK, will provide you full support in administration and any other issues until you obtain your degree. Whilst it is not required, students are welcome to visit Shulan College Teaching Clinic for clinical observation.
